Hector Sanchez Barba, Executive Director and CEO of Mi Familia Vota, released the following statement on the United States Senate confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett, President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court. The Senate’s confirmation took place even after millions have already voted in the 2020 elections.

Mi Familia Vota, the Arizona Coalition for Change, and an individual voter registration organizer have won a lawsuit to extend the Arizona voter registration deadline to October 23rd. The plaintiffs argued that the COVID-19 pandemic stymied typical voter registration efforts. In response to that lawsuit, a federal judge in Arizona issued an order Monday evening extending the voter registration deadline from October 5th to October 23.

Mi Familia Vota is excited to announce that it is partnering with The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) to mobilize the Latino vote during the 2020 election cycle. MFV and AFT will be holding a joint voter registration drive this Saturday.
